Thiruvananthapuram: UDF Council Member, who has used Satyagraha in the main office demanding action against corruption, doing artificial rituals to ‘expel grafts’ from the corporation here on Sunday.
Artificial protests are the enactment of ‘Chandrika Homam’ which was performed by UDF council members in 2014 when they came up with various protest modes to express their dissent to Mayor K Chandrika.
On Sundays, the UDF council came prepared with all the important items for rituals and even had a priest.
They also chanted by mocking and praying so that corruption could be removed from City Corporation.
In 2014, Hindu Aikyavedi had filed a complaint against the UDF council members to program rituals.
The council members then follow up with religious prayers in the main office when Hindu religious organizations are very objected to the artificial ritual they have done.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Arya Rajendran immediately protested in the communal shade and issued a press record in which he said that the protest mode aims to drive the secular nature of local government institutions.
“The corporation is a secular institution and provides the same consideration for all sects and religions,” he said.
