HJV Mangaluru Divisional General Secretary Prakash Kukhalli said, “If the hijab is permitted, Hindu students will attend classes by wearing a turmeric scarf in schools and colleges in the district.” Accused that communal organizations tried to disrupt harmony on the campuses of education, Kukhalli said that the effort was carried out to send students to the institution by wearing a burqa and hijab.
“They are now demanding permission to wear headscarves during class, and in the future, they can ask permission to wear a skull and burqa hat on the campuses of education.

Farooq Bayabe, NSUI State Vice President, said that the organization had decided to file a direct petition in the High Court, in connection with the hijab problem.
“The fundamental rights of Muslim girl students are rejected by banning the hijab on campus,” he said.
The NSUI delegation submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Udupi M Kurma Rao, to allow Muslim girls to wear headscarves during class.
