Brussels: The European Union said it reached an agreement with the drug maker of AstraZeneca to end their legal battle for the slow delivery of the Coronavirus vaccine by Anglo-Sweden.
The European Union executive branch, the European Commission, said Friday that Astrazeneca conducted a “firm commitment” to provide a total of 300 million vaccine doses in March next year.
The Commission said involving a pharmaceutical company that provided 135 million doses by the end of this year plus another 65 million doses in the first quarter of 2022.
Brussels said labor would respect the purchase agreement in the EU achieved by AstraZeneca a year ago.
Tens of millions of doses have been supplied to UE member countries, but not as many as 27 blocks of block expected.
The Belgian court decided in June that Astrazeneca had “serious violations” from his contract with the EU.
But the company said that the verdict showed that “Astrazeneca had fully fulfilled its agreement” with the European Commission.
AstraZeneca is seen as the main pillar of the launch of the EU vaccine.
Tussle is legal for the obligation of shipping tarnishing the image of the company, but the Commission has no problem with the quality of the company vaccine.
