LONDON: 44,985 Other people in the UK have tested positive Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases of Coronavirus in this country to 8,734,934, according to official figures released on Saturday.
The country also reported 135 deaths related to Coronavirus.
The total number of deaths related to Coronavirus in the UK is now at 139,461.
These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days after their first positive test.
There are currently 8,238 patients in hospitals with Covid-19.
The latest data comes when the World Health Organization (WHO) warns that vaccines will not be enough to lift the world from a pandemic.
Margaret Harris, a WHO spokesman, said: “We really have to do other steps” to recover from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Professor Stephen Reicher from St Andrews University warned that British risk “Dilly-Halling to Locking” if it did not act immediately.
Speaking to Sky News, he warned that the “not enough” vaccine “and” other protection “needed to curb a pandemic.
