U’khand: 4 of the 10 lost trekker wb found dead

Kolkata: At least four of the 10 trekkers from Bengal, which was lost at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters after they were trapped in a snowdrops triggered by a snowstorm on the Harsil-Chitkul track route between Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, found dead.

While their bodies have recovered and taken to Harsil, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has recovered two bodies from travel routes, but they have not been identified.
The only lost trekker from Bengal that has been saved until now is Mithun from, 32.
Originating from the Prasadpur in Bishnupur, 24 South Parganas, he is currently undergoing treatment at Harsil Army Hospital.
In a short telephone conversation with his brother-in-law, Susmita, from saying he had seen avalanches sweeping others but did not realize their condition.
Uttarkashi Devendra Patwal Disaster Management confirmed that from the five bodies that had recovered, four came from Kolkata and the suburbs while the fifth trekker came from Delhi.
The search and rescue mission for the remaining lost trekkers from the country will continue on Saturday, Patwal added.
The bodies are expected to be flown to Kolkata on Saturday.
State government officials said they would not know the family once they got an official message from the Uttarakhand government.
Meanwhile, in the absence of confirmation, members of the lost and dead trekker family continue to live in uncertainty, afraid of the worst.
Most last talk to them on October 14.
While they have heard that the body has recovered, they are not sure whether their son is missing, husband or brother among them.
Subjijit Das from Nepal Bhattacharjee Street near Kalighat, whose brother Shibayan (28) was lost, last heard from him a week ago when he was in Uttarkashi.
Medical representation, Shibayan was a diligent trekker and moved towards Lamkhaga Pass when he last spoke with his family.
“I have tried to contact the administration to get its existence but no one has told us anything,” said Subhojit.
Also in the trekking group was Tanmay Tiawaty from Thakurpukur and Vikas Makal (33) and Sourav Ghosh (34), both of the Nepalganj in South 24 parganas.
Local MLA and the Minister of State for Transportation Dilip Mondal said he had heard of the death of several trekkers and attempts to bring back corpses.
Family member Sadhan Kumar Basak (63), Jaigir Road residents in Thakurkukur, also spent days and nights in anxiety.
