Coimbatore: The State Highway Department has completed 50% of the ukkadam-ahupalam flyover work in the city.
Tasteful work will be completed in March 202, according to officials of the state highway department.
Construction work Flyover UKKadam-statue 3.8km-obatiously starting in 2018.
Built at a cost of RS 280 Crore, Flyover will have four lanes.
The government will spend RS 100 Crore for land acquisition for this project.
Initially, the government had planned to build flyovers between UKKadam and Karumbatai.
Then, it was extended to the intersection of Athupalam.
“Working at UKKadam to the Karumbangatai Flyover portion has been completed.
The extended stretch of work from Karumbatai to Athupalam Junction was approved by the government in March 2020.
Because the extended stretching work was stopped for more than a year.
Now, the work has begun in stretching.
Hope that all stretches from ukkadam to Athupalam will be completed in March 2023, “said senior official from the State Highways Department.

Land acquisition must be done in the Athupalam area.
The official said the road down and the rising road would be built to connect the path of Athupalam Junction-Palakkad and Athupalam Junction-Polachi Road.
The lower road and road will also be built to connect the Sungam bypass road with Junction Ukkadam.
“Once the work is finished, it will be a smooth journey above the stretch,” officially added.
