Chandrapur: Announcement by Ultratech Cement Factory in Awarpur in Korpana Tehsil to enter the lockout in the coming days after the hassle created by Vijay Kimanti Kanri Kanrati Sangrati Sanghatna (VKKKS) has stirred the industrial environment in the district that has five cement plants.
The company officials announced a decision during a meeting with a recognized Union office carrier, L & T Kamgar Sangh, on Saturday morning.
President Union and former MP Naresh Puglia had run a letter to the Main Minister who was looking for his intervention to stop locking at the largest cement plant in Chandrapur.
VKKKS, which is headed by Guardian Vijay Wadettiwar’s Daughter Shivani, reportedly stopped production in Ultratech and does not allow any type of transportation or work in the factory for the past eight days to suppress their demands.
Puglia accused VKKKS has the support of the Guardian and Administrative Minister supporting trade unions to create pressure on the company.

He claimed that the cement industry paid wages around RS17,000 per month to carry out workers’ contracts, “but they were tricked through the promises of the rise increase through the state government even when this problem was under the Department of Union Government Labor”.
The former MP accused that VKKKS did not allow workers or officers to enter the factory.
“Even after the company obtained orders from the District Court which stated that no workers or officers who had to be stopped entered the factory, the police were reluctant to implement it,” Alleged Puglia.
VKKKS President Shivani Wadettiwar stated that their agitation would continue until the company official agreed to meet their demands.
He claimed that talks were held with Utltratech officials in front of the district collector.
“Officials insisted that the demands would be fulfilled only after the United States attack union and allowed the resumption of production at the factory,” he said.
He claimed that company officials had made false promises in the past.
“We don’t believe their oral guarantees.
We will give up our agitation only if they give us in writing that they are ready to meet the demands,” he said.
Company officials cannot be contacted for their comments.
The district president of an unknown Union, Vijay Thakre, said that their demands included providing at least 20 to 26 working days, canteen facilities, uniforms etc.
for contract workers.
He warned that unions would not submit to pressure and agitation would continue even if the company entered the lock.
