US, EU pledge Alliance in Strategy against China Because of its Own Actions from Xinjiang, Hong Kong

BRUSSELS: Following the United States-European Union Summit, both sides vowed to carefully consult and collaborate on a broad selection of issues within their strategy to China, together with respect to its contentious activities in Xinjiang and Hong Kong.
At a joint announcement on Tuesdaythe US and the EU stated:”We mean to carefully consult and collaborate on the entire assortment of topics in the frame of our various similar multi-faceted strategies to China, including elements of collaboration, competition, along with systemic contest.
We mean to keep on organizing on our shared issues, such as continuing human rights violations in Xinjiang and Tibet; the erosion of freedom and democratic procedures at Hong Kong; financial coercion; disinformation efforts; and regional security difficulties.” Both sides also expressed significant concern about the position at the East and South China Seas and oppose any unilateral attempts to alter the status quo and also boost anxieties by China.
“We emphasize the value of stability and peace across the Taiwan Strait, and also encourage the peaceful settlement of cross-Strait problems.
We plan also to coordinate with our constructive engagement with China on issues like climate change and also non-proliferation, and also on specific regional problems,” read the combined announcement.
