At least one school district at Kaufman, Texas, announced a plan to close the middle school for that day in response.

“Post follow a disturbing trend that has made students in action in response to social media challenges.
In September, students throughout the US posted a video about themselves recording the school bathroom and stealing soap dispensers as part of the challenge of “cunning pejan”.
In October, students were challenged to slap a teacher, encourage the National Education Association to ask Facebook, Twitter and Tiktok leaders to intervene.
The state police officer Michigan, among law enforcement agencies responded to the post, said in a statement on Thursday it was unaware of credible threats.

We know our school personnel will do all their power to keep our students safe,” Officials with the Iowa State Education Association, Iowa School Board Association and Iowa School Administrators said in Joint statement.
Internet companies such as Tiktok are generally released from obligations under the law A.S.
For material users sent to their network, thank you mostly to “Safe Harbor” which they were given by Section 230 of the 1996 Communication Law.
“It is impossible that Tiktok will be responsible if there is actually a shooting,” said Jeff Kosseff, who wrote a book about section 230 and taught Cybersecurity law in the US Naval Academy.
“Even without 230, there are many obstacles that oppose to be able to bring the cause of action to the media where the threat is posted.” But Kosseff, who was warned about the challenge of Tiktok Thursday from his daughter’s school district in Arlington, Virginia, said it did not mean Tiktok could not do anything about it.
“They have a lot of flexibility to do the right thing and take dangerous content.
I hope they do that,” he said.
