New York: The three Covid-19 vaccines authorized by the US seem to be less protective against the newly detected Omicron variants of the Coronavirus in laboratory testing, but the dose of booster is likely to restore most protection, according to a study released on Tuesday.
.
Studies from researchers at Massachusetts (MGH) General Hospitals, Harvard and MIT who have not reviewed the blood reviewed from people who receive modern vaccines, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer / Biontech on Pseudovirus engineered to resemble omicron variants.
The researchers found neutralization of antibodies “low without” from the variant of the regular regimen of the three vaccines – two modern vaccine shots or pfizer / biagnect or one of the single-dose vaccines J & J.
But blood from the recipient recently from the additional booster dose shows Neutralization of a strong variant, study found.
Scientists also suggest that Omicron is more transmitted than the variants of previous concerns, including about twice as worldly transmitted as the dominant Delta variant, which might soon be followed by Omicron.
The results are in line with other studies that have recently been published.
Researchers at the University of Oxford said on Monday that they found the two dosage pfizer and the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine regimen did not produce enough antibodies neutralizing the new variant.
Bionech and Pfizer said last week that three shots from the Covid-19 vaccine they were able to neutralize the new Omicron variant in laboratory tests, but two doses produce far lower than much lower antibodies.
Modera and J & J have not released their own data about how the vaccine opposes a new variant.
J & J refused to comment on the same new and modern studies did not respond to requests for comments.
