Kanpur: The National President of the Jamajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday reached Kanpur and met Manish Gupta’s family, a businessman who died in a hotel in Gorakhpur on Monday night during a police attack.
He supports the victim’s family’s request for the CBI probe, and said the government must help families with RS 2 Crore as ex-gratia other than government work for Manish’s wife.
Akhilesh demanded direct suspension of the District Judge (DM) and the Senior Police Supervisor (SSP) Gorakhpur to “trying to block the family so as not to push the FIR against the police accused of being accused of”.
He said that it was the responsibility of the police to protect the victim’s family.
After meeting a mourning family, Yadav while handling media people said that “in the BJP government, the police instead of protecting, killing people”.

“The actions were not taken to the police and officers because the government had made them wrong.

It has been studied that a similar incident occurred in Unnao and in Gorakhpur.
It is difficult to get justice unless there is a judicial investigation.
