Kanpur: MOB threw stones at the police team where the Chhibramu Inspector and several other police personnel were injured in the Tri-section Saurikh in Kannauj on Thursday.
Then, a police party led by the Supervisor Verma Prashant Police rushed to a place below the limit of the Chhibrramau Kotwali police station when receiving information that the police team, along with Nagar Palika staff and the revenue department official had released the Buddha statue of God installed by a group of people in Saurikh Tri-section without permission, attacked.
Locals have installed a statue on Tuesday night.
When the police team, along with Nagar Palika officials and income officials, tried to remove the statue, a horde that had objected to the removal of the statue suddenly began to throw them.
“The crowd had attacked police personnel from the roof of the nearest market atop,” said a police officer.
Utilizing a high-rise market, his horde pelted stones on the police.
Even though the police managed to control the horde, using strength, at that time the Chhibramu Inspector and several other police personnel suffered injuries.
