Kanpur: A woman who allegedly killed her three children and later died of suicide in the Kulpahar Police Station area in Mahaga District on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sonam (35), Vishal (11), Aarti (9) and Anjali (7).
According to the police, the incident occurred at the Kathwaria location under the Kulpahar Police Station where a man, Kalyan Singh, used to live with Sonam’s wife, Vishal’s son and Anjali.
Kalyan is used to get his livelihood by caring for families by working as daily bets and agriculture in a small agricultural land.
On Saturday morning when he returned from the fields, he found a closed house door.
He repeatedly knocked on the door and called his wife Sonam, but after not getting an answer for a long time, he went to the roof of his house and entered the house.
He found his wife Sonam depending on the snare in the room and the body of their son’s blood stained, Vishal lay nearby.
Aarti’s daughter’s body and Anjali with their throat gap was found covered with a blanket above.
Kalyan told the neighbors, who told the police.
The police rushed to the place and the investigation began.
The three children were hacked to death.
When the police searched, the sickle was broken with blood stains restored from the room.
Circle Officer (CO) realized Tej Bahadur Singh, asked Kalyan and the people around.

said that the prime facie, apparently after killing children by slitting their throat, the woman committed suicide by hanging her.
“The exact cause of the incident was confirmed and we were working on all possible angles,” said CO.
During further interrogation, it discussed that Kalyan’s wife was used to doubt Kalyan’s loyalty.
“The locals told investigators that Sonam had doubts about her husband’s loyalty, she felt that Kalyan’s husband had an affair with another woman.
Because of this, she often quarrels with her husband,” the officer said.
