Vadodara: Vadodara Police landed in a shameful situation at the Judge Judicial Court on Saturday when the Uttar Pradesh police brought a religious conversion racket accusing Umar Gautam and Salauddin Shaikh over the transit warrant here.
The court refused the demand for the Vadodara police to arrest the defendant in a registered case in the city and produced it to recharge on Sunday.
Gautam and Shaikh, who were accused of promoting hostility between different communities, forgery, money laundering and criminal conspiracy by Vadodara police, submitted in prison.
The court in Lucknow has allowed transit delivery and has ordered the police to produce it before the court here.
On Saturday, when the police rose to produce Gautam and Shaikh before the court, the investigation team specifically asked the court to formally arrest them.
Police plan to interrogate them for 24 hours and produce it in front of the court again to look for their custody.
However, the demand made by the Vadodara police to arrest them was opposed by a Duo lawyer.
“When the defendant was produced in front of the court by the police, it meant that they were in the termination of justice.
And if the police wanted to interrogate them, they could not ask the court to arrest them.
Our argument is that the right way is to seek their detention through the Disposal Application The police who did not submit to the court, “said the lawyer Gautam Arsh Shaikh.
The duo was produced before the court in the afternoon and the argument for their prisoners took place for hours.
The court, in the afternoon, refused the police request to arrest them and produced it the next day to reset.
However, investigative officers were allowed to one hour to prepare reports and look for their prisoners and until then the two defendants to stay in terms of justice.
“We say that we have not caught them yet in connection with our case, so how can we seek their detention.
So, we want to arrest them first,” said the Assistant Commissioner of Police D Chauhan.
Officials must return to their office at night so prepare new requests and place them in front of the court.
The source said that the police planned to find their prisoners for 14 days.
