Vadodara: Only three three years ago, this lake in Bhayli Village is a place that is usually avoided by the locals when radiating the stench.
A water that is widely used by people to dispose of garbage and plastic waste.
But the same water now turns into a paradise for birds, thanks to the efforts of children who do massive cleaning tasks.
On Wednesday, a group of children from the village will gather and do dances on the edge of the lake to celebrate the day of world wetlands.
“The lake has undergone a large transformation over the past two years, thanks to the efforts and hard work included by these children.
All trash is cleaned of air-body and awareness campaigns to ensure that the locals do not dispose of waste inside and around the lake, “Word Hitarth Pandya, who led the campaign.
Seeing the dedication of children, even other locals contribute and help clean the lake.
During the last two winters, a number of migratory birds and locals had begun laying eggs on the lake.
“This is a sign of the healthy eco system and the resurrection of the lake.
So, we decided to arrange a program to celebrate the success of children on the day of world wetlands,” Pandya told Toi.
“We always worship all natural elements.
So, Puja has been organized where everyone will pray on the edge of the lake that will be followed by the dance program,” said the 11-year-old Harshil Vankar, a resident of Bhayli.
Children will sing on behalf of birds that begged humans to release wetlands and let nature prosperous.
More than a dozen children from the village also become experts on migratory birds.
They not only identify birds easily but also ensure that Mischief makers move away from the lake and do not disturb the beauty of winging.
