VADODARA: This is one ride that Sandeep Chahuhan would scarce erase from his memory.
It was a bullet ride with a cobra, which the rider was blissfully ignorant of until it hissed at him mid-ride announcing the ‘cold’ presence! But the Royal Enfield rider too showed nerves of steel on Tuesday night on Akota-Dandia Bazaar Road in the city, when he spontaneously tapped on the uninvited guest’s head on the moving vehicle forcing the snake to receded under the petrol tank where it had been hiding.
But daredevilry too can only take so much, and Chauhan lost no time in seeking safety.
He immediately pulled over and sought help from passers-by to get rid of the reptile.
Cops passing from the road too stopped out of curiosity and Chauhan narrated them his adventurous driving after he spotted some movement under the steering while riding.
Chauhan then contacted volunteers of Wildlife Rescue Trust who reached the spot immediately.
After some efforts, the volunteers managed to coax the reptile out of the machine and rescued it.
It was only then that volunteers realised that it was nothing less than a cobra which wanted a fun ride! Needless to say, it was a ‘venomous’ shock for Chauhan too!
