Vadodara: With their situation in the grip of terrorism, they face the financial crisis over the past few years due to lack of work.
On Thursday, around 20 women’s craftsmen from Jammu and Kashmir will get the chance to display 30 of their artwork in the city.
Vaarso, an NGO based in the city, has held an ‘gem on a wall’ exhibition where hand embroidery work carried out by Kashmir women will be displayed.
“When talking to a few friends in Kashmir, I learned about the difficulties facing the craftsmen there in the midst of difficult times.
They work hard and create beautiful artwork that deserves to be exhibited to the world,” said Dr.
Gita Bhatt Sheth who runs Vaarso Who promotes handicrafts from Gujarat.
“So, we decided to arrange an exhibition of hand embroidery works carried out by Kashmir women and show off their talents to the world,” Sheth added.
The two-day exhibition will begin from Friday morning at the Sarjan Art Gallery in the city.
