Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has begun to identify facilities where Pediatric Covid-19 cases can be taken for care.
It has identified 400 beds in the city where children can be accepted as long as possible the third wave of pandemic, said the source.
These include 200 beds in government hospitals and the same amount in private hospitals.
Many experts have predicted that the number of higher children can be infected in the third wave.
During the first two waves, the number of cases among children is much lower than adults.
“We take stock of total beds available and the number of beds available in a pediatric icus and neonatal icus.
Data is being collected,” said the VMC (Health) medical officer, Dr.
Devesh Patel.
Sources said that 100 ICU beds were also available for Pediatric Covid-19 cases.
This bed includes around 30 with a ventilator or bipap machine.
About 20 of them are available at a government hospital while the rest are in a private hospital.
Officials say that the ventilator or bipap machine used to treat children is different from those used for the treatment of adults.
The meeting of the Pediatrics based in Vadodara is held online in the city.
Preparedness of private hospitals was examined during the meeting.
