Vadodara: Waste contamination is found in water supplied to Junieighadi near Paniged in the area of the old city of Vadodara.
Water samples were tested after a number of cholera cases reported from the area including the death of an old woman.
Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) reported 10 cases of cholera on Wednesday at his health bulletin.
Seven of these 10 cases came from Junieighadi.
However, VMC officials said that there were several errors in reporting cases that lead to high numbers.
On Thursday, there were no new cases reported in the area.
The East Zone VMC conducts tests for water contamination in affected areas.
Overall, 125 samples were tested in the Junieighadi area and one was found contaminated.
In other cases, samples were found contaminated in the area of mygojipura on the outskirts of the city.
Well in the sample in Msujipura and Junieighadi, the reason for contamination is waste.
The opposition congress party also visited affected areas.
Congress leader in VMC was chosen wing Ami Ravat said that contamination complaints were being made since some time, but were not attended.
