Indian Railways has extended deadlines for fresh tenders floating for 58 sets of Vande Bharat trains.
The deadline for submitting offers for the main system of the Vande Bharat train has been extended until November 22.
The train hopes to launch 75 trains Vande Bharat Express on August 2023 and more than 100 March 2024.
A train official told TI that the deadline has been extended since some stakeholders have asked more time to understand the requirements of the project.
The previous date for submission of offers was October 20.
Railways India has provided a tender for a propulsion system and a key system of 44 train Vande Bharat to Medha Servo in early 2021.
Vande Bharat Express, also called the train 18 after the production year, is a self-propelled train set that does not require a locomotive to transport it.
