New Delhi, experienced diplomat Vikram Misri has been appointed as the representative of the National Security Advisor at the National Security Council Secretariat.
The appointment of Misri, Indian Foreign Service Officer 1989-Batch (IFS), came after he served as an Indian Ambassador to China for almost three years.
Misri has been appointed as Deputy NSA, officials said.
He served in various capacities at the Headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and at the Prime Minister’s office.
Misri also served in various Indian missions in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
The government has appointed Pradeep Kumar Rumpat as a new Indian envoy for China.
Misri will report to the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
At present, Rajinder Khanna, PANKAJ advice and Dattatray Padsalgikar serves as an NSA representative.
