Udupi: Forestry Department has a plan to place a high-definition 360 ° camera inside the core forest area throughout Karnataka, to capture the visual wildlife directly, and show tourists in audio-visual centers outside the forest, and thus promote the ecotourism , Immediately, places will be identified, and the camera will be installed in the forest where tourism activities are not permitted, said Karnataka Forest Minister Arvind Limbavali.
He spoke to the media after holding an official review meeting at Udupi and visited Kandla Vara (mangrove forest) in Kundapur on Saturday.
“We have permission to start eco-tourism projects in the forest area.
However, there are some restrictions in terms of tourism development in the forest.
We have developed a tourism project in Bandipur by very obeying the rules.
However, it is not possible to carry out tourism projects in the region Core Forest.
Therefore, we have directed officials to use technology and develop ecotourism in these fields.
The camera will be repaired to photograph wildlife videos, and recordings will be shown to fans in various centers.
The work has begun in Biligiri Rangathaswamy Temple Tiger Reserve.
Such projects can also be implemented in forest areas in coastal districts as well.
This will attract more tourists, “Minister said.
The minister said that mangrove forests protect the coast from cyclones and tsunamis.
“I came to see how the mangrove forest was planted here.
Kundapur beach is also a breeding area for Fish Lady (Kane).
We need to promote the eco-tourism here, and the income generated through it must be used to develop more mangrove forests in backwaters .
We also plan to grow mangrove forests in locations identified along the coastline of Karnataka, “he added.
Green cover in Karnataka has increased from 13% to 23%, the Minister said in return on the query.
“I have set goals to increase the country’s green cover from 23% to 33%.
However, it is not possible in one day or a year.
The Ministry of Forestry works to achieve this goal, and cooperates with people are equally important,” he added.
