VMC Chops spends milk for poor children

Vadodara: Municipal Vadodara Corporate Committee (VMC) on Friday cleared the budget design presented by the Commissioner of the City.
The committee was cleaned with a budget of RS 3,839 Crore against the budget proposed by RS 3834 Crore by the VMC commissioner.
In a surprise step, the committee reduces the budget to provide children’s milk of children in a streetwadis.
It also destroyed the budget for dog sterilization in the city.
The committee cuts the budget for milk in a streetwadis from Rs 2.35Crore to RS two crore.
The dog’s sterilization budget is also cut down by Rs 30lakh and upgraded from RS 1.5crore to RS 1.2crore.
This detail is part of the changes made by the fixed committee on the budget.
The chairman of the permanent committee, Dr.
Hitendra Patel said that the committee had made a decision after discussing this issue with the department concerned.
“They argue that AngganWadis may not function for more time because Covid and the amount can be reduced.
Similarly, with stable progress in dog sterilization programs, less operations needed and the amount can be reduced,” Patel said.
Another important decision taken by the committee regarding the budget includes that it sets the proposed infrastructure.
The committee has proposed to buy new equipment and machinery for wards.
It also proposes to develop crematoriums on the outskirts of the city.
This has been done to reduce the burden on typical crematoriums.
The Committee has also proposed to open up space between housing blocks in the scheme for the urban poor.
This is done to ensure cleanliness there.
To increase income, the committee has proposed property assessment in areas and zones of results.
It has also been proposed that stockpiling with private property must be surveyed and they must be given a serial number.
It has been recommended to ensure the recovery of charges from them.
The committee has also proposed a review of stores rented by the Civic body.
It has also proposed to increase income from mobile tower and fiber optic networks.
Income from telecommunications companies has been under the expectation of the Civic body.
The budget cleaned by the current committee will be taken for discussion by the Civic General Council.
