Vadodara: To facilitate irrigation after an extended dry mantra in Central Gujarat, 3,000 Air Cusecs were released from the Kadana Dam.
The dam is among the largest in the center of Gujarat and located on the Mahi River.
Officials said that water release began on Saturday.
According to an official, it has planned to continue the water supply of the dam for 15 days.
Most farmers will benefit because the release comes from Anand and Kheda district.
However, the state government has also announced that water will be released for irrigation from the dam after Bolon Monsun.
