Water released from two dams in Themi Dist

Madurai: Air was released on Friday from the Manjalar Dam and Sothuparai near Periyakulam in the Tamil District Nadu for irrigation.
Minister of Cooperatives I Periyasamy released water from the Manjalalar Dam in Devadarni Village in the presence of the Muridharan District Collector M.
Water from the Dam will benefit from 5,259 hectares of land in the district and dindigul district.
The water level of the Manjalalar dam is 55 feet against a maximum level of 57 feet.
It’s an inflow of 60 cusecs.
The Theni District collector released water from the Sothuparai Dam.
Water level reaches 126.28 feet, which is the maximum limit.
Water will be released for a period of 152 days (until March 15, 2022) on the turn system for 2,865 hectares of irrigation.
