Guwahati: The Chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma on Sunday said the state government was committed to implementing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide clean tap water for all rural households in Assam in 2024 under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
He said to improve the mission in Assam, all implementing agencies must work in total synergy to bring 43 lakh households left under this superior scheme.
Under JJM, the water supply scheme will be applied in every village in the state.
“After building a scheme in every country’s village income with a vision that ‘nothing left behind’, the implementing department must form a ‘water user committee’ to maintain the maintenance protocol of the scheme,” Sarma said.
He also emphasized the selection of technically empowered volunteers in all 24,000 water supply schemes.
In the need for literature to provide knowledge to each stakeholder about the operation and mission sustenance, Sarma requested the implementation department to publish a handbook.
The State of Panchayat, Rural Development and Minister of Public Health Engineering Ranjeel Kumar Dass while speaking on the occasion gave a brief snapshot about the implementation of the mission in Assam.
The Head of the Head of the Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, JB Ekka, Director of Mission, JJM Akash Deep, Officer Department Officer, PRI member, BDO and others were present during the meeting.
As part of the Daylong meeting, Senior Panchayat officers and the rural development department and public health engineering held an intensive review to discuss any level of mission implementation.
