By Uditprasanna Mukherjee Kolkata: Most restaurants, bars and clubs extend their closing time of one hour to around 10:005 from February 1, the first day of the night limitation starting from 11 nights.
“They can continue until 10:30 a.m.
or 10:45 but must be fully closed at 11pm,” said a State Official.
However, an excise official showed it was different for various restaurants and bars.
“For example, the bar, where employees remain in that place, will not find it difficult to stay open until 10:00 a.m.,” said an excise official.
Under the New Order, the government has casual seat restrictions from 50% to 75% of capacity but there is no closing time.
But before, when the night limitation from 11 nights, these companies remain open until 10:45 pm.
President of the Association of East Indian hotels and restaurants (Hraei) Sudesh Poddar, also owners of Songhai, Manthan and MS Bar and Lounge, said they were closed at 10:40 a night from Tuesday so customers could reach 11pm.
Their last order will be 10:15 pm.
Anjan Chatterjee, special restaurant chairman who has Oh! Calcutta, Mainland China, Haka, Sigree and Café Mezuna, are happy with additional hours.
“We will be closed at 10:30 a.m., almost an hour later so far.
I thank the state government for this,” he added.
MD Chowman Restaurant, Oudh 1590 & Chapter 2 Debaditya Chaudhury said now that relaxation has been given, guests will be allowed to enter until 10 pm and the food will be served at 10:15 a.m.
“For Chapter 2, the last liquor sequence will be 10:15 pm and our restaurant will be closed at 11 pm.
Now the time has been extended, we are very happy and prepare a big time to arrange seating 75%,” he added.
The owner of Peter Cat, Mocambo and Peter Hu! Nitin Kothari has begun to take the last order until 10:15 a.m.
from Tuesday.
“We closed at 10:45.
This hour will be very important to eat customers,” he added.
Most of the clubs are closed at 10:45 pm up to 11 nights from Tuesday.
Calcutta Club Secretary Rowing Chandan Roychowdhury said the bar would open until 10:30 a.m.
Tolly Club CEO Anil Mukherjee said, “Previously, the last sequence at 9pm and now, it would be 9.45pm so we could finish at 10:30 a.m.” Princeton Club will open until 10:45 a.m., said the Sanjay Karmakar operation manager.
“Our last order will be 10.15,” he said.
