Kolkata: Uddami India Foundation, a NGO recently handed over 30 oxygen concentrators to several rural government hospitals in West Bengal.
The oxygen concentrator was in great demand because the Covid-19 situation was handed over to five rustic hospitals.
They were sent as gifts from the US by students and Indian teachers at Cornell University so that pandemics can be handled better in Bengal.
Asha for education, giving India, Mukti and three other NGOs also collaborated on carrying oxygen concentrators from the US.
Dr.
Ankit Kumar from Budge Budge Rials Hospital said that the infrastructure support would help patients mostly.
Hashamanjari Nanda, Executive Director, UDDami India Foundation said that they would soon reach a remote Sunderbans archipelago such as Sagar and Hingalgunj to submit oxygen concentrators, because the island population faced many difficulties in reaching the hospital in Kolkata.
NGOs also provide free training to unemployed young people so that they can be employed as paramedic staff and many of their training participants work as a Covid soldier in hospitals and nursing homes, the coordinator of the Debnath machete from Uddami India.
