Vadodara: Over the years, the soaking process of Ganesha Idol from June Ghadi Pol – one of the popular pandals in the old city – attracts thousands of worshipers.
But on Thursday, Fanfare looked calm in the midst of heavy police bandobast.
While a large crowd has gathered outside the pandal, almost 50 people were allowed to accompany the procession while the Ocean Khakhi stood on guard ensuring that the streets were not too dense, especially in the city of walled.
Shamsher Singh City Police Commissioner deployed hundreds of police along with the State Reserve Police (SRP) and Force Action Rapid (RAF) on the soaking route.
Twenty-two ACC, 80 Inspectors and hundreds of junior police came out on the road to ensure that people followed the Covid guidelines and finished soaking quickly.
At night, hundreds of procession towards an artificial pool at Ground Navlakhi in the middle of the DJ music.
The police have also deployed drones in the walled city to monitor the interior area.
The procession continued until late at night but there were no unwanted incidents reported.
