Weekly case in the distance rose 71% even as testing drops

Thiruvananthapuram: This district has recorded an increase of 71.7% in a weekly case compared to the peak week during the second wave, although the weekly test number has dropped by 7%.
On the second peak week, 1.08,654 tests were carried out in the district but could only record 1,01,487 tests in the last seven days even though there was an increase in the number of significant cases.
Comparison of the test level of tests between the last seven days and the second wave peak week showed that TPR increased by 17.3%.
In the past seven days, the government sector only contributed 23% of the total tests carried out.
Even then TPR in the government sector for all types of testing has been 57% over the past week.
TPR in one week for the antigen test and RTPCR has been above 50% in the district.
On Saturday, the district recorded a slight decrease in TPR.
A total of 6,647 were positively confirmed from 14,495 samples at 45.9% of TPR.

The total number of tests crossed 20,000 only once in the district this month so far.
There are days when the test drops to 7,297.
In the past four days, the number of tests ranged between 14,000-16,000.
TPR in the district remained below 50% since January 25.
Whether this is caused by an inconsistent testing pattern or reflects the original decline in cases has not been confirmed by health officials.
Kuttichal Pancrayat has recorded the highest weekly TPR in this district.
It recorded 186 positive from 237 samples at 78.5% of TPR.
Eight local bodies have recorded weekly TPRs above 60% in the district.
Eedava is the only Pancrayat who has maintained weekly TPR under 30% in the district.
