Kolkata: CBI, who investigated cases of post-assembly poll violence in West Bengal, has arrested three people in connection with the murder of Bisjit Mahesh, known as BJP supporters, a source on the agency said about Tuesday.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on November 11 last year submitted a case against five accused of Mahesh’s death in Midnapore Barat, in accordance with the Calcutta High Court orders, the source said.
Mahesh was allegedly attacked with an iron and sword on May 4, 2021, shortly after the declaration of the assembly poll produced the country, and his body was thrown into the pool.
He was then taken to Sabang Hospital, where the doctor said he was “taken dead”.
BJP has accused that the powerful TMC workers attacked activists and supporters, after elections.
The High Court has been on August 19, decided that the investigation into cases of violence after the poll involving rape and murders was held by the CBI, recorded the NHRC report in this issue.
