Kolkata: The State Excise Department has begun investigative to ensure that the massive decrease in Indian prices makes foreign liquor (IMFL) and liquor in the form of urban origin (bio) to the final consumer.
As part of this drive, Kolkata South Collectorate has closed liquor stores from the leading retail chain at the Kolkata Center Mall for overpricing.
Top officials of Collectorate Excise said they had begun to conduct investigations in shops and have asked for bar-cum-restaurants to reduce prices.
“We sent a team to various shops,” the official said.
According to sources, regardless of one closed for seven days for investigations, other liquor outlets from this retail chain are also under the scanner.
“We will go to liquor stores from this chain.
There is too expensive evidence in at least three brands in new shares and we will also investigate other brands.
But it is not a suspension.
This is a seven-day closure for further investigation,” the official said .
Also studied that, informally, the Excise Ministry has requested a bar to benefit from the price decline to the customer as soon as possible.
“We tell them every time they get new shares, they must immediately continue their benefits,” said an official.
IMFL, beer, bottle of liquor origin, spirits abroad Bottles in India, and wine down 20% -30%.
For beer, the fall is marginal (5% -6%) but for some registered prices of IMFL with excise, the fall is even 30%.
The price of some leading semi-premium and semi-premium brands has been cut by 30%.
For Deluxe whiskey brands, autumn 25% -26%; In terms of popular rumors, autumn is 15% -18%.
