Geneva: The head of the World Health Organization calls rich countries with a large supply of Coronavirus vaccine to refrain from offering booster shots until the end of the year, expanding calls that mostly fall on deaf ears.
WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also said on Wednesday that he was “surprised” in the comments by the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer association that said vaccine equipment was quite high to allow for driving and vaccination shooting in countries that desperately needed Jab.
“I will not stay silent when companies and countries that control the supply of global vaccines think the poor in the world must be satisfied with the rest of the food,” he said at a press conference.
Tedro previously called for a “moratorium” on Booster’s shot until the end of September, but the United States and other countries have started or are considering plans to offer them to their vulnerable people.
