MySuru: If the state government advanced with land plans and sanction funds to the University of Karnataka Samskrita, he will move the High Court who is looking for a living, said activist and retired Professor BP Mahesh Chandra Teacher here on Monday.
He said he would be forced to apply for public interest in the government.
He told reporters that Sanskrit was not a livelihood language.
“Some languages include Sanskrit dying for cultural and practical reasons.
But the government provides Rs 300 Crore and Subur Land to universities in Magadi in Ramanagara District.
This is very difficult to condemn,” he said.
Only a few people in Karnataka use Sanskrit.
Instead of providing funds for universities, the government must use it for the development of government schools, hospitals and women’s empowerment and children, he said.
“According to the 2011 census, only 4,631 people use Sanskrit as a communication language.
How many people depend on the language for livelihoods, education, and life?” He said.
The former Mayor and BSP leader Purushottam accused when government schools and other universities in poor conditions, the government plans to spend a large number at the University of Karnataka Samskrita, adding it to anti-people.
