Mysuru: For the past few days the physical class in high school runs successfully.
The state government plans to restart offline classes for students who study in the lower class gradually.
However, one of the major challenges provides midday food for students by following the appropriate Covid-19 behavior.
Although students demand midday food, the government has not started preparations including the vaccination of chefs and their assistants, which is the key to introducing a scheme.
The teacher school has been vaccinated by priority.
However, many midday eaters eating, which is an integral part of the midday eating scheme, has not received a vaccine, raising fears that the government will not start the scheme soon.
Dining workers are worried that without vaccination there is no chance to restart midday eating back.
“All talk about the reopening of the school.
However, there is no proposal to vaccinate lunch workers.
Our fear is that the government can stop permanently presenting hot cooked food in school and continuing by providing dry rations and cooking costs,” said Vimala Kumari, 41, a cook from Bannur.
“The government must immediately vaccinate all workers.
It is possible to serve food in schools by following Covid-19 SOP,” he said.
‘There is no salary since April’ According to midday eating workers, they have not received Honorarium Rs 2,700 (for the main chef) and Rs 2,600 (for assistant chefs) since April.
“There is no other support like what has been expanded by the government and Asha teacher from private schools,” said Geethamma, Kumari, and Parvathi, who served as the main chef in various city schools.
Many midday eaters say they only get the first dose of Jab.
“Our request is the resumption of the scheme,” they said.
The main secretary of the Ministry of Education Pratama and Middle School SR Umashankar said today, teachers are vaccinated by priority.
This is being done with government orders.
“After 100% of Teacher’s coverage, we will take a vaccination of others.
Many mid-day eating workers have taken vaccines,” he said.
