The English All-rounder Chris Woakes has supported Joe Root to continue as a team’s test skipper even though they embarrassed the capitulation to Australia.
England suffered inning and lost 14-run to Australia on Tuesday in Melbourne as the root team handed over the ash series of five tests with two spare tests.
Root, who was reluctant to discuss the long-term future of his captain after Ash’s defeat in the third test, had not won one of the three series of responsible ash.
The 30-year-old child has also experienced a record of nine defeats in 2021 as captain.
Asked whether the English team would support the continuation of the roots as captain, Woakes told British media on Wednesday, “really.” It was clear that the captain did not have an impact on his punch, many times with the captain could be the case.
