Women make u-turn complaint ‘forced conversion’

Written by news2in

Vadodara: It is the first violation to be registered under Gujarat freedom of religion acting in the state.
But a married woman, who accused her husband forced repentance two weeks ago, has now submitted a written statement in court who said she was not forced to enter.
The 25-year-old woman even urged the court to approve her husband’s assurance application.
“He had returned to his complaint in the statement and said that his husband did not force him to repent.
He also denied other allegations made in FIR.
But he must have done a written statement under pressure,” said Anil Desai, the public prosecutor in this case.
“The signature of a woman in Affidavit is different from the one in FIR.
Also, Affidavit was made a few days before the bail application was filed by the defendant.
I argue about this difference in court on Thursday,” Desai Toi said.
“Previously, the woman had given her statement under the CRPC part 164 in front of a judge where she had said that she was converted strongly.
The written report that she was now submitted should not be with free approval,” he said.
The woman on June 17 filed a complaint at the Gotri Police Station against her husband, who called himself Sam Martin, on social media.
He accused the complaint that he was friends with him in February 2019 and then expressed his desire to marry him.
The complainant alleged that her husband forced him and they married in February this year.
The woman also accused her husband to change it forcibly and did not let it practice His religion.
