Panaji: A month after the state government takes credit for the range of 100% of the population that meets the first dose of the Covid vaccine, people continue to appear for their shots.
At an average, 1,000 people or more vaccinated every day with the first dose.
However, a health official said they were those who got their first dose of vaccines now, especially outstation employees working in Goa.
Among the others they have also recently been 18 years old, while the rest can become people who, despite fulfilling the requirements, not vaccinated.
The Goa government draws last month after claiming 100% coverage of the population that meets the requirements with the first dose.
“Everyone gets their first dose.
We will achieve 100% vaccination from the second dose at the end of this month,” health workers said.
On Thursday, more than 1,000 people were vaccinated with the first dose, and 6,000-plus received their second dose while a total of 7,447 were vaccinated for the past 24 hours.
Between 7,000 and 8,000 people are vaccinated every day.
On Thursday, more than 7.5 lakh people were entirely vaccinated, and 4.6 lakh had received their second dose.
The state also has around 4 doses of lakh in balance.
Other officials say that Goa is likely to vaccinate more than the targeted population, because it has high volume of outstation employees in an organized and unmegrocated sector.
Goa is a tourism country with a big labor from other states in the hospitality industry.
“It’s no faster than his employees, the employer ensures that they are vaccinated.
This is a good movement, because the workers will be here until the season ends.
The same applies to workers employed on the trawl,” the official said .
Tourists and other tourists also chose to vaccinate in Goa, because the site session was less crowded, he said.
