Prayagraj: The campus panic grips Mela Magh and side by side, under the boundaries of the DaraGanj police station, on Tuesday, after 30-year-old workers sank into the Ganges River, while working on the pontoon bridge.
After the incident, fellow workers working on the Pontoon Bridge site stopped work and demanded compensation.
After being told, the Daraganj police team, along with Mr.
Personnel, rushed to find the place and conducted a lost worker.
Magh Mela officials also rushed to ask about the incident.
Station House Officer (Daraganj) told TII that sincere effort was underway to track lost workers from the river.
He added, that the worker was drewed into the Ganges, after he slipped while working at Pontoon Bridge.
Eyewitnesses told the police that workers, who were identified as Arun, slipped into the Ganges while working at the Pontoon Bridge Gangoli Shiva.
Workers’ colleagues made a futile effort to save him, but all in the vein.
The operation of the search, carried out by police Daraganj Police and SDRF, is ongoing to archiving this report.
With Magh Mela dated closer, workers worked overnight to build five pontoon bridges in Ganga.
