New Delhi: Delhi Yash Dhull’s dough will lead the 20-member Indian squad in the upcoming 19 Asian Cup scheduled to be held in the UAE from December 23, BCCI announced on Friday.
There will be a preparatory camp in Bengalaru ahead of the tournament and government agencies also named the 25-member squad for the same thing, which includes five standby players.
“The All-India Junior Selection Committee has chosen 20 Indian U19 members for the Asian U19 Cup to be played in the UAE from December 23,” said the government agency in a statement.
“Voters have also announced a 25-member squad for preparatory camps at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from December 11 to the next Acc event.” Dhull is a leading run-getter in the Vinoo Mankad trophy earlier this year.
He averaged 75.50 for 302 runs for DDCA in five matches played by the team during the tournament.
The council, however, said that Indian forces for the U-19 World Cup are scheduled for January-February next year in West Indies will be announced later.
Defending champions twice India has won the ACC U-19 Asia Cup six times in the last eight editions, while sharing trophies with Pakistan in 2012.
