The appointment of Leena Nair as a new global CEO of French luxury label Chanel is a matter of pride for India, which although not coming from background mode will take control of Chanel from January.
The 52-year-old child worked with Unilever as Chro Global and his career there stretched for 30 years.
He is a British citizen from India and has now joined a list of the increasing number of Indian companies leading to the world’s leading company.
Taking to his social media account, he wrote, “I feel humble and honored to be appointed as Chief Global Executive Officer Chanel, an iconic and admired company.
I was very inspired by what Chanel trusted.
This is a company that believes in freedom of creation, In growing human potential and acting to have a positive impact in the world.

Under his leadership, Unilever was named the number one FMCG graduate employer in 54 countries.

Leena graduated from XLRI and was a gold medalist.
