Thiruvananthapuram: A 20-year-old young man died on Sunday after he allegedly drowned in the Karamana River under the boundary of the Vlatiyorkavu police station.
Wisnu, the son of Santhoshkumar from Karumamkunnu near Vatiyorkavu is the deceased.
He learned to become a student of a government university in the city.
According to the police, the accident occurred while Wisnu and Gang six members bathed in the river near Ayiravalli Temple around 4pm.
Fire service personnel and rescue are warned immediately.
But, he was dead when his body came out of the river.
Fire and rescue service personnel who attended the case said the place where Wisnu sank was a dangerous place.
Many sinking deaths have been reported in this place in the past.
Last year, a warning sign was installed here to prevent people from exploring the river.
A strong current and the presence of abundant rock formations makes the river here dangerous.
Fire service personnel and rescue also said the body was found lying on the river bed at the same place where he sank.
In other cases, Vellarada police under the district of rural police on Sunday morning restore the body of an unknown man from the pool near the home of the Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College Hospital, Karakonam.
The police said the body was at least three to five days based on the level of decay.
The body belonged to a man apparently around 50 years old.
