Kolkata: Barrackpore City Police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old young man, for allegedly killing two people on Ghat Sodepur in two separate incidents.
The police investigated the murder of a 40-year-old Goni Gonnel worker Shibnath Das arrested the defendant, Biplab Das, from his residence on Jalan Basu Hateladar Panihati.
Shibnath’s body, a resident of Jalan PN Banerjee Agarpara, recovered from the Giribala Hooghly River Ghat sodepur on Sunday.
A sign of injury was found on his head.
The police learned that the watershed had also killed other people, sex sex (42), a resident of Ganganagar Madhyamgram, at the same Gath on December 19.
According to police, Das, a drug addict in Madhyamgram in Madhyamgram for more than two years.
“He came out just a few days ago and began to spend time at Ghat.
He demanded money from several people to buy drugs,” said an officer.
On Saturday night, he also demanded cash from Shibnath.
“When the person refused, the defendant hit him with a stone slab twice after which Shibnath died.
The defendant then took Rs 150 from the victim’s pocket and left the place,” the officer said.
On December 19, the watershed also attacked my friend, a trader, when he went there to collect holy water.
The watershed him with bricks on his head caused his death.
Das has been sent in police custody for seven days.
