Chandigarh: Videos have emerged on social media that showed the Punjab MLA Joginder Pal congress and security personnel struggled to ask what work did the legislator do for his village.
When the incident left a shy party, Deputy Minister of Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said on Wednesday that a legislator had to serve the people and MLA should not behave this way.
In the video, PAL, MLA from the BHOA assembly chair in the Pathankot district of the poll state, was overcoming a group of people on Tuesday.
Then a young man, who was identified as a hard Kumar, could be heard questioning the legislator about what he had done during his tenure.
When a security officer from the legislator held his arm to take him away from the event, Joginder Pal could be heard asking youth to come and talk to him.
When MLA gave him a microphone to speak, the young man asked, “Tu Ki Kita (what have you done?)” The young man’s question left Joginder Pal Furious and he could be seen slapping him in the video.
MLA, two security personnel and other people then struggled the young man and he was taken out of the venue.
Kumar who was loud on Wednesday said he had just asked questions to MLA but he was beaten well by PAL and several others.
His mother said his son only asked MLA about what he had done for the village and demanded justice for him.
There is no reaction from MLA.
BJP hit the ruling Congress in Punjab, said it showed their non-tolerant faces.
