Chikkamagaluru: Police Chikkamagaluru has arrested 13 members of the honey gang.
A middle-aged man, who was suspected of being a victim of a gang, approached the police who led to Wednesday, said SP Hakay Akshay Machhindra according to a complainant, a woman called her ask for Rs 10,000 for a sick friend’s mother.
He approached the woman in a rented house to submit the number.
Gunmen intimidated him at his home and forcibly took off his clothes and took his photos and videos in a compromise position with the woman.
They demanded Rs 20 Lakh and threatened to post photos on social media.
Gang collected Rs 25,000 and asked him to finish it, the police stated.
The victim approached the police on August 14 and filed a complaint at the City Police Station Chikkamagaluru.
SP said he formed a special investigation team to catch a gang.
Police arrested 13 gang members including six women.
Three cars, Rs 40,670 cash, autorickshaw, bicycles and 17 cellphones with 24 SIM cards have recovered from the defendant, SP said.
