MUMBAI: It looks like the practice of choice of Amol Muzumdar because the head trainer of their Mumbai senior staff hasn’t gone down well with just two associates of the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) Apex Council, that are miffed using the MCA’s office-bearers, especially the secretaries, rather than keeping them in the loop regarding the same.
The problem is set to come up for debate in the MCA’s Apex Council meeting on June 11.
In individual mails (TOI is accountable for both mails ) into MCA secretaries Sanjay Naik and Shahalam Sheikh, Apex Council members Unmesh Khanvilkar, a former secretary of this institution, along with Ajinkya Naik hauled their displeasure at not being consulted or informed through the practice of Muzumdar’s appointment as Mumbai mentor.
In his email, Khanvilkar wrote:”I congratulate Muzumdar to be named as the trainer of their Mumbai senior group for its 2021-22 season.
It is a joy to have him coach of the Mumbai older group.
But, I suggest we need to not just limit him to just the senior group of this institution, but we ought to involve him grooming the gift for the future” “At exactly the identical time, I’d love to emphasize my absolute displeasure and bitterness with the secretaries about the attitude to the apex members.
All of us are chosen members of this institution but there’s almost always a silent split line involving the office-bearers along with the board members.
In some specific conclusions, we as Apex associates had been involved and remarks were sought if necessary.
“Yet, today we had a procedure completed for the head trainer and selection of exactly the exact same too but there isn’t any fundamental communication or info mail concerning the same.
I’d love to emphasize my absolute displeasure and bitterness with the secretaries about the attitude to the Apex members.
All of us are chosen members of this institution but there’s almost always a silent split line involving the office-bearers along with the board members.
Can we Apex members exist for youpersonally? It is most disheartening to learn that such critical information like choice (not the titles ) along with finalization of this Mumbai senior team trainer does not hit us Apex council members since official communicating.
I am hoping to get a response.
In addition, I ask you to choose this email to your dialogue during the forthcoming Apex Council meeting on 11th June 2021.” Reiterating the things emphasized by Khanvilkar, Naik wrote:”For a chosen Apex Council member of MCA, I’ve come across specific decisions being accepted by the secretary of this institution without subsequent to the constitution/charter of this institution and also the non-observance of habitual practice and the process prescribed therein.
That one instance that I would love to bring to the opinion, is that the appointment of this trainer, that has been completed in a random manner without adhering to the procedural rules.
It’s learnt via media reports which Muzumdar was appointed as mentor in a random fashion, without requiring approval of this Apex Council at a meeting or via email.
Moreover, the stated appointment was hauled to the members of this institution.” Muzumdar’s appointment will”put a massive financial burden in the MCA, together with the national season ,” composed Naik.
“From the newly held BCCI AGM, the beginning of the national season was not actually discussed.
Everything rides on the third wave of this Covid-19 pandemic.
In actuality, that the BCCI terminated a couple of contracts since they aren’t convinced of the national season.
Though the credentials of Muzumdar aren’t in doubt, in my own opinion producing any new appointment within this situation is going to be an immense financial burden on MCA using all the cricket season undoubtedly,” said Naik in his communicating.
“This is an issue of grave concern which the business has been conducted in a fashion prejudicial to the attention of the institution.
It’s also learnt that particular standing committees are made without consulting and between the Apex Council members.
The aforesaid activities are contrary to this entire democratic system where the institution was assembled,” Naik reasoned.
Reacting to the allegations of those Apex Council members, MCA secretary Sanjay Naik told TOI:”The Mumbai trainer is appointed from the MCA’s Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) according to the provision of this constitution rather than the office-bearers.
Before also, the CIC never consulted with the office-bearers or even Apex Council on those appointments.”
