Doha: One day a hundred from the opening of Rahmanullah Gurbaz fired Afghanistan into a 48-run win which won a series of Dutch in the second odi on Sunday.
Replying 237 Afghanistan for six of their 50 overs, the Netherlands locked only 189 at 47.4 overs.
Afghanistan, who won the first three matches on Friday, the first competition for the second match that runs in a slow and, driven by Gurbaz’s 103 of 127 balls and 54 of captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, posted 237 which challenged for six.
Gurbaz, who was 20 years old in November, hit six four and three six when he proceeded to the second ODI century – who first came to debut against Ireland in January last year.
Kent Key-Arm Seamer Fred Klaassen (2-51) and 21-year-old Philipe-Spinner Philippe Boissevain (2-39) is the most successful of the Dutch bowlers.
The Dutch again rely heavily on the opening of the birth of their Tonga Scott Edwards who followed his 68 in the opening with 86 solid balls.
He added 90 for the third goal with Bas de Leede before he was placed by Ahmad Rates for 34.
Edwards crashed into Iriya half a third century before falling into Yamin Ahmadzai to leave Netherlands on the fourth.
It was effectively the end of the Dutch challenge when they lost their last six goal for 42 to run further with Mujeeb ur Rahman Bowling the last man Vivian Kingma to complete with four for 32.
This series is part of the Super League World Cup, which will determine the qualifications for World Cup Cricket 2023.
Afghanistan led the three-match series 2-0 with the last ODI to be played in Doha on Tuesday.
