Dhaka: Tom Latham unbeaten 65 failed to steal a victory from Bangladesh who won two second puluh20 against New Zealand on Friday with a four-run to move up to 2nd place with their five-match series.
Bangladesh made 141 for six from their 20 overs with Mohammad Naim made 39 and captain Mahmudullah Riyad 37 undefeated Six balls of Mustafizur Rahman.
Mustafizur provide extra seven of the 15 runs were conceded but New Zealand ended on 137 for five.
Bangladesh spinners again dominated the slow wicket with Shakib Al Hasan and Hasan Mahedi finish at two for 12 and two each respectively.
Shakib ended the backrest 43 run second wicket between Latham and be young to get one wicket to join Sri Lanka Lashing Malinga as leading wicket taker in Twenty20 Internationals.
Bangladesh All-Rounder now has 106 of the goal in the shortest format.
Latham, who survived the stumps on 54, put Bangladesh under pressure with a solid punch.
New Zealand, hammered by seven wicket in the opening game, taking six of the last ball to win but Latham only manage a single one.
“It was a good game to take it to the last,” said New Zealand captain.
“I think we learned from the last game and to bring it to the last with a chance to win is incredible.” Mahmudullah said he had confidence in Mustafizur to handle final.
“Mustafizur hold her nerves well and we went very close,” he said.
“It is unusual, but I have little confidence in Mustafizur.” Naim and Liton Das made 59 runs in the opening of the opening after Mahmudullah Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat.
Liton, who was dropped before he scored by Colin de Grandhomme off Cole McConchie, go to the New Zealand punished by making 33 from 29 balls.
