New Delhi: Bowling Jadap Meghnna Singh and Renuka Singh Thakur were given a call-up of girls, while the left arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad returned when BCCI on Tuesday announced a female team for a one-time test and a series of Overs Limited against Australia.
The Indian team will depart for Australia on August 29 to play three ODIS, during the day and three T20IS tests, starting next month.
Voters decided to appreciate Meghna aged 27 years and Renuka aged 25 years for their exploits in the senior trophy one day in April.
While the middle arm of Middle-right Pacer Meghna took five wickets for the train, Renuka won nine-goal for Himachal Pradesh during the tournament.
Yastika Bhatia’s left hand dough also found a place on the three teams but Priya Punia and Indrani Roy were abandoned.
Experienced Spinner Rajeshwari, which is part of the South African series, was not considered for a tour of England when he recovered from a knee injury and also suffered a Covid-19 battle.
Selextors announced a 18-member team, led by Skipper Mithali Raj, for one-time test and ODI series, and the 17th troops were strongly peeled by HarmanPreet Kaur for the T20 series.
“The Senior Women’s Senior Election Committee on Tuesday chose a team for the upcoming tour of Women India in Australia.
This series will consist of 3 ODIS, one test match and 3 T20IS,” BCCI said in the release.
The tour will begin with the ODIS series, starting with the first game in North Sydney Oval on September 19, followed by the second and third matches in the Junction Oval on September 22 and September 24.
Perth will then host the Pink-Ball test one scheduled from September 30, followed by T20IS in the North Sydney Oval on October 7, 9 and 11.
Indian players have been practicing in Bengaluru in front of the tour.
The team had to undergo quarantine 14 days on arrival in Australia before they took the host in the first Odi.
After a tour of England, this is another important tour for India when they built their ODI World Cup preparation in New Zealand early next year.
