Prasagraj: Good news waiting for commuters traveling between Capital State Lucknow and Chitrakoot or heading to Madhya Pradesh through Prayagraj.
Following the new bridge that appeared above River Ganga, joining Ghat Ghat of Kunda Pratapgrah and Shahzadpur from the Kaushambi district will reduce travel distance around 50 km.
After this new bridge commissioning, it was built by State Bridge Corporation and based on German technology from the Stay-Stay Bridge, the commuters would save about an hour of their travel time.
At present, those traveling towards Chitrakoot or MP from the state of the state or from Raebareli and Pratapgrah must cross the Ganges River on the old bridge near Kade Dham (who joined GT Road in Saini) or they must come far to the DOAGRAJ.
And Cross Phaphamau while moving towards MP and Chitrakoot from Naini.
However, now after this new bridge, which is around 90% complete, commuting will be able to save a distance of about 50 km and thus reduce travel time.
To access the bridge, the passengers must follow the path to Ghat Ghat (from by-pass near Kunda on Jalan Raya Prayagraj-Lucknow), cross ganga by the upcoming bridge and the road will take them directly to Shahzadpur in Kaushambi.
From there, the road to Chitrakoot through Muratganj must be followed.
Traffic is expected to start on the new bridge at the end of December.
“The government has agreed to the construction of this 1272 meters long bridge above the Ganges River, between Ghat Ghat to Shahzadpur, in July 2019 and the construction of the bridge was carried out by us and now the bridge is almost 94% complete,” said Director Project, Subhash Pratap Bagri.
Around RS 248 Crore is spent on the construction of this bridge.
Like the new bridge above the Yamuna River in Prayagraj, this bridge was built in the form of a German technology bridge which was extradosed.
This bridge is supported by more than 13 pillars.
Although there are several delays in the construction of bridges because the first wave and both pandemic and work have become jammed for several days but still, the corporation has made lost time and managed to minimize delays by only a few months.
The bridge will also come as a gift for the occupants of the city of Sangam who lives in the West City.
This bridge will reduce the distance between Lucknow Prasagraj-about 50 km because they don’t have to travel to Phaphamau to go to Lucknow or Raebareli.
Instead, they now have to go to Bharwari and Shahzadpur and Cross Ganga to reach the Kunda by-pass and move towards Lucknow.
